First-time Homebuyers
Workforce Housing Program (WHP)

This program has assisted 440 buyers with $40 million in low-interest loans and down-payment assistance since 1991. It offers first-time home buyers seminars and counseling, as well as, referrals of affordable homes for sale in various areas throughout the County, low-interest financing, and down-payment assistance. Applicants must have income, employment stability, and an established history of good credit. Financing programs have various income limits and other qualification requirements.
Strategy
- Create a flexible public/private Partnership to encourage production of affordable homes on infill sites and in new developments
- Provide assistance to moderate income residents and workers to become home buyers

Homebuyers’ Seminars
In conjunction with local lending institutions, the office sponsors and conducts seminars educating prospective homebuyers about the purchase process and credit requirements
