Certificate of Business Under an Assumed Name
Any business operating under an assumed name, trade name, or “Doing Business As” (DBA) which does not incorporate the true legal name of the person or entity conducting business must register that name with the local Clerk of the Circuit Court and/or with the State Corporation Commission. No business license can be issued, or registrations for other local taxes accepted by the Commissioner of the Revenue, without documentation that this filing has been made.
