Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Classes
Be a hero! Be empowered to help your friends and family during a disaster. During the FREE CERT training, you will learn to:
- Take steps to prepare yourself and your family for a disaster
- Identify and reduce potential fire hazards in their home and workplace
- Work as a team to apply basic fire suppression strategies, resources and safety measures to extinguish a small fire
- Employ basic treatments for various wounds
- Use safe techniques for debris removal and victim extrication
- Plus much more!! Become empowered; not a victim!

The CERT classes will take place at the James City County Fire Training Center. From Rt. 60 (Pocahontas Trail), make a right onto Busch Way (by the Shell station). Take the next left onto McLaws Circle. Turn at the next left onto John Jefferson. You will see the 300 building on your right. Make the immediate right onto Packets Court; this is to enter the parking lot. Please enter at the main building entrance on your left. We are located in Suite 201, upstairs.
You may use the steps to the 2nd floor or the elevator which is located in the hallway to your left.
