Do YOU want to be prepared for the next disaster? CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is a FREE course which gives you great benefit . CERT training teaches participants to:
- Be better prepared for a disaster
- Be able to recognize and treat life-threatening injuries
- Be able to assist your neighbors, friends, family in a disaster
- Become knowledgeable about disasters and how you can make a difference
- Be Empowered, not a victim!

CERT classes are held at the fire training center, at 300 McLaws Circle, upstairs in Suite 201. Directions to the Fire Training Center from the west, take Rt. 199 east to the Rt. 60 exit. Bear right onto Rt. 60 (Pocahontas Trail). Turn right onto Busch Way at the 3rd traffic light. At the stop sign, turn left onto McLaws Circle. Go past the Kingsmill Marriott on your left to John Jefferson Road and turn left. The Fire Training Center is the large white building on your right. There is a red stripe with “300” on the building. Turn left onto John Jefferson, and the next right into the parking lot. Enter the lobby under the large “300”.
You may use the steps to the 2nd floor or the elevator which is located in the hallway to your left.
