Community Outreach
James City County Fire Department is focused on building a strong relationship with the community. The Community Outreach Program is one way for the Fire Department and citizens of James City County to work together outside of the emergency setting.
Each Fire Station, in coordination with the Fire Prevention Division, provides a number of services promoting health and safety in the home. These programs are brought directly to the citizens by the same Firefighters that serve in their area. This has shown to improve our public trust and gives our Firefighters a chance to know their neighbors better.
Community Outreach programs include:
- Child car seat inspection and installation
- Blood pressure evaluations
- Fire Station Open House (late summer or fall of each year)
- Station Tours
