Technical Rescue
The James City County Fire Department Special Response Teams primary function is to deal with heavy and tactical rescue situations. Equipped with a Heavy Rescue truck and trailer, the team is able to respond, plan, and execute operations including, but not limited to:
- High angle rescue
- Confined space
- Trench collapse
- Building collapse
Several team members are also a part of the Regional FEMA Response Team and are subject to national response requests. Each SRT member holds a number of HTR (heavy and tactical rescue) certifications and most are ALS certified.
