Records Management


Records ManagementRecords Management is the central records division for land development files. Once files are closed they are sent to Records Management for maintaining them. The files are microfilmed or scanned.

If information is needed, on proposed or ongoing cases please call the Code Compliance Division at 253- 6626 or the Planning Division at 253-6685.

Copies of the Certificate of Occupancies are available from the computer or microfilm. The cost per page is $1.50. Copies of drawings are available for $3.50 per sheet.

Information on existing structures, i.e., zoning files, site plans, building permits, accessory permits, wetland files, sign permits, rezoning files, master plans, and subdivisions files are available in our office.

Important Information

We do not have recorded plats to properties. The recorded plats are kept at the Clerk of the Circuit Court's office at the Williamsburg/James City Courthouse. The Courthouse, (757) 564-2242, is located on Monticello Avenue in Williamsburg.
