Development Review Committee (DRC)
The Development Review Committee (DRC) is a 5-member sub-committee of the Planning Commission. Members are appointed annually by the Chair of the Planning Commission. The 2008 DRC members are Rich Krapf (Chair), Tony Obadal, George Billups, Jack Fraley, and Joe Poole. The DRC reviews development plans which propose any of the following:
- a single building or group of buildings with a total floor area exceeding 30,000 square feet
- a residential development of 50 or more units
- two entrances on the same road
- a fast food restaurant or shopping center
The DRC may also hear cases if any of the following apply:
- there are any unresolved problems between the applicant, adjacent property owners, or any reviewing agency
- a conceptual plan has not been submitted in accordance with County requirements
- the development plan varies significantly from an approved master plan
- requests for exceptions and waivers to the site plan and subdivision ordinances
All meetings are held in Building A of the Government Complex, 101 Mounts Bay Road, at 4:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

The DRC reviews cases to ensure compliance with the County Zoning and Subdivision ordinances. The recommendations of the DRC are approved at the monthly Planning Commission meetings.
