Sick Leave Bank Committee Members
The Sick Leave Bank is a "pool" of sick leave days donated by members who then may use them for extended personal illnesses or disabilities. Look here for the charter: Sick Leave Bank Charter If you are a member, you may continue to draw your regular salary for up to six weeks a year after:
- exhausting your own compensatory, sick, and annual leaves; and,
- meeting a waiting period of 42 consecutive calendar days during which you were ill or disabled.
- not receiving other pay such as workers compensation, or disability retirement benefits.
To draw from the Sick Leave Bank, you must:
- Complete Part 1 of the Sick Leave Bank Withdrawal Form;
- Have your physician complete Part 2; then
- Submit the entire form to the Human Resource Department.
To participate, you need to have:
- Completed your probationary period by June 30;
- Complete the Sick Leave Bank Enrollment/Termination Form; then
- Submit to the Human Resource Department.
All members donate one sick leave day to the pool each July 1 as necessary. You may apply for membership at the Human Resource Department during open enrollment. Membership begins July 1.
