Working Towards Wellness Program

What is it?
The Working Towards Wellness program is designed to provide County employees with the information and resources needed to achieve and maintain a healthy and fit life-style.
In order to assist employees with achieving fitness goals, employees may receive a health risk appraisal, fitness assessment, and personal profile (customized fitness improvement plan) at the James City/Williamsburg Community Center at no cost. If, after completing the appraisal and assessment an employees wishes to use the Community Center to attain their fitness goals, an access pass is provided, also at no cost.
Participants who wish to have access to the Community Centers must complete a Fitness Assessment once a year and complete the Health Risk Appraisal every two years. You may renew your card once an assessment is scheduled: Community Center staff will put a sticker on your card which will indicate a new expiration date.

What must I do?
To participate in the Wellness program:
- Complete a Health Risk Appraisal form and take it in a sealed envelope to the customer service desk at James City/Williamsburg Community Center.
- Schedule a Fitness Assessment.
- If desired, obtain an access pass to the Community Center.
Participants in the Working Towards Wellness Program may receive a Fitness Assessment without obtaining a pass.
