Welcome Aboard Packet

 

Welcome to employment with James City County!  Follow the steps below to ensure you are placed on payroll and your benefits begin in a timely manner.  Please return the completed packet to Human Resources.

For your convenience, if you would rather print out the necessary forms all together, you may do so by clicking on the appropriate packet links below.  All new employees complete the Welcome Aboard Packet.  Those employees in Regular and Limited-term positions should also complete the appropriate Benefit Packet (either Full-time or Part-time).

Tip:  Sign and date forms once you have completed and printed them out.

INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1

Offer Letter

Your offer letter will be sent to you by mail or e-mail.  Full-time and Part-time Regular, Limited, Other Employees sign and date letter keeping a copy for your records. Temporary employees keep original for your records.

STEP 2

Employment Eligibility (I-9) Form

Complete Section 1.  

Review list of acceptable original documentation needed for verification.  You will need to present verification documents at your scheduled Benefits Orientation or when you visit HR to complete paperwork.

STEP 3

W-4 Employee's Federal Withholding Allowance Certificate

Complete, sign, and date.

STEP 4

VA-4 Employee's Virginia Income Tax Withholding Exemption Certificate

Complete, sign, and date.

STEP 5

Direct Deposit Authorization Form

Complete social security number, name, Section 1, sign, and date.  Attach a voided check for a checking account or deposit slip for a savings account.

STEP 6

Employee Information Sheet

Complete.

STEP 7

Temporary and On-call Employees: Proceed to Step 8.
