Gravity Sewer Cleaning and Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Inspections
In an ongoing effort to inspect and evaluate the underground wastewater collection system, the JCSA initiated cleaning and CCTV inspections in selected areas. The internal pipeline inspections can reveal imminent pipe failures, sources of groundwater and storm water inflow and infiltration, and obstructions in the pipelines. Obviously, it is better to discover these deficiencies before catastrophic failure or a sewer system overflow occurs. The area currently being inspected is the 18-inch gravity sewer main from Longhill Road south approximately 7000 feet along Powhatan Creek.
Cost
- Cleaning, CCTV inspection, easement clearing and report – approximately $75,000.
