What is impossible to see, smell or hear? – Carbon monoxide (CO) is an invisible, odorless, poison gas that can be produced by gas- and oil-burning furnaces. As a result, hundreds are killed and thousands more become sick every year.

Keep your family safe this winter by following these steps:

  • Have your furnace inspected every year.
  • Install battery-operated CO detectors near every sleeping area in your home.
  • Check CO detectors regularly to be sure they are functioning properly.

For more information, visit the Centers for Disease Control’s website.
