First national Emergency Alert System test scheduled for Nov. 9 – At approximately 2 p.m., the Federal government will conduct the first-ever national test of the Emergency Alert System.
Though an emergency warning system has been in place in the U.S. since the 1950s, and is tested in each state on a weekly and monthly basis, there has never been a nationwide test of the system. The purpose of the test is to ensure that a Presidential alert message warning of a national emergency could be disseminated throughout the nation. For more information, visit the website.

The County is offering free leaf drop off in November and January and curbside collection in December. Details are available online.
