The County is considering a TDR program as a way to provide incentives for residents, landowners and businesses that could shift potential development in Rural Lands (sending areas) to areas that are already planned for development (receiving areas).

Ready Virginia tornado preparedness logo.There's no such thing as a "tornado season" – Tornadoes are common in Virginia. In fact, 62 tornadoes struck the Commonwealth during the past three years, injuring more than 220 citizens and causing nearly $48 million in damage to homes, businesses and other property. Tornadoes can strike anywhere, at anytime and you need to know what to do. The best way to be ready is to practice a drill in your home, workplace and school.

People of all ages can participate in the annual Spring Cleanup.Annual Spring Cleanup scheduled – Calling all County civic, youth and neighborhood organizations! Are you ready to get outside and help the environment? The James City Clean County Commission’s 29th Annual Spring Cleanup will be held March 26, April 2 and 9 and we need your help.

Over the years, volunteers have removed over 200 million pounds of trash from County roads and illegal dump sites. Applications are available at the County’s website or by calling 565-3664. Applications are due March 12.

Having fun at a recent Family Fun Night.It’s Family Fun Night! – Time for a little March madness – both on the court and off – March 12, 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. at the James City/Williamsburg Community Center.

Join us for three hours of family fun creating arts and crafts, searching for the lost leprechaun, “spring”ing to life in the gym, playing a little b-ball, splashing in the pool, challenging your family on the Wii and more. Registration is $3 per person and kids 12 years and younger are FREE! Pay at the door.
