The James City County Police Department is offering a firearm safety class to the public free of charge. The one-session class will cover basic safety, handling, and storage.
Interested adults can attend November 28 and youth ages 11-17 can attend December 5 or December 12.
The class meets at the Law Enforcement Center at 5087 John Tyler Highway from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. The class does not include hands-on training and personal firearms should be left at home in a secure location.
Pre-registration is required and class size is limited. Call the Police Department at 253-1800 to register.
