JCC TV48 Program Highlights and Meetings, March - April
FYI – March/April Edition: James City County residents can stay connected to the County by watching JCC TV48’s news program, “FYI.” In this episode viewers will get an inside look at the police department, meeting some of the officers and learning about the responsibilities they have in protecting the quality of life in our County. Also, Tom Fitzpatrick, the youth representative to the Comprehensive Plan’s Community Participation Team, fills you in on what is happening with the 2008 update. Finally, do you know if you are doing everything you can to conserve water in your house? Tune in for tips on how to cut down on monthly water usage and become ‘Water Smart’. The Comprehensive Plan : James City County's master plan for guiding future growth. It is reviewed every 5 years and is used to evaluate development proposals and guide the decisions of County departments. It covers all aspects of the community, including economic development, population growth, public facilities, parks and recreation, and transportation. The Plan update is scheduled to follow a 22-month timeline with a final version ready for adoption by the Board of Supervisors in summer 2009.
Taking Clean Water by Storm: Understanding James City County’s Stormwater Program:James City County’s robust growth and the benefits it brings to our community put a greater demand on nature’s most precious resource – water. See why the creation of a stormwater utility is needed to expand funding for improvements to the County drainage system and to protect County waterways from further degradation. Airs daily at 11 a.m. and 11 p.m.
Down Home Virginia – January 2008: Watch Sherri McKinney and Norm Hyde every month on Virginia Farm Bureau’s Down Home Virginia. This half-hour TV program is geared toward consumers and families in Virginia and focuses on both agriculture news and family-oriented stories. The show also offers cooking and gardening segments that feature products from Virginia. Airs daily at 2:30 p.m.
Health and Home Report: A variety of stories of interest on consumer news, parenting, personal finance, household hints, health, technology, travel, business and nutrition. This month’s show focuses on holiday tech toys, how to have a healthy cold and flu season, a model-less fashion show and much more. Airs daily at 3 p.m.
All Board of SS Supervisors and Planning Commission meetings will be rebroadcast on Public Access Channel 46 on Thursdays and Fridays respectively. Rebroadcasts will be continuous throughout the day, and will always include a viewing at 8 p.m. |
