Community Video Center/JCC TV48
The Communications Office manages the 24-hour programming of the County's Government Channel JCC TV48 and Community Channel 46 which is available in both the County and Williamsburg. Programming consists of the live broadcast of County and City meetings, staff produced programs, and video message boards announcing government services and events. The office also supports the Cable Communications Committee which oversees the Cox Communication Franchise.
Television Production Services
The Community Video Center, 1114 Ironbound Road in Williamsburg, opened in July 1996 as a partnership to provide citizens with quality government programming. The partnership includes the County, the City of Williamsburg and Cox Communications who fund the daily operation of the Center.
The 3,500 square-foot facility houses a 1,600 square-foot studio, a control room for those studio productions, and a head-end room for live control of the County's two channels and the City's government Channel TV48. The Center is staffed by a full-time manager/video services coordinator, and a part-time video engineer.
