WASHINGTON, D.C. - Sandy Wanner, County Administrator of James City County, recently received the International City/County Management Association (ICMA)'s Credentialed Manager designation. Wanner is one of a group of 282 local government management professionals to be credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.
To be credentialed by ICMA, a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government, have earned a degree in public administration or a related field, and demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development.
Sandy Wanner is qualified by over 30 years of professional local government executive experience. Prior to his appointment in 1996 as County Administrator of James City County, he served as Assistant County Administrator, General Manager of the James City Service Authority, and Finance Director for the Williamsburg-James City Public Schools.
