The Office of Neighborhood Connections is pleased to announce the opening of the 2003 Neighborhood Matching Grant (NIMG) application process. The purpose of the NIMG program is to enhance the sense of community through the involvement of the neighborhood in the development and accomplishment of a neighborhood project. James City County will award matching grants up to $500 to a neighborhood/homeowner association. The funds can be matched with volunteer hours, in-kind donations of supplies, or money.
Several changes will be instituted with the 2003 NIMG application process:
- All applications for 2003 will be due January 31, 2003.
- A panel of past recipients and staff will determine the winners and the amount funded.
- A Grant Application workshop will be held January 7, 2003, at 7 p.m. at Neighborhood Connections for interested neighborhoods.
- The Grants will be awarded at the Neighborhoods Conference, Saturday, March 1, 2003.
Applications will be available beginning November 30 from the Neighborhood Connections Office located at 5248 Olde Towne Road, Suite 11.
