Seat Belt Safety

 

During the month of November the James City County Police Department in partnership with DMV Smart, Safe, and Sober will be focusing our educational and enforcement efforts towards seat belt usage. Our goal is to increase the seat belt usage in our county. We are focusing special attention at locations where fatalities occurred as a result of someone not wearing a seat belt. It would help us if you could assist in promoting our efforts. We are releasing the following public service announcement. This information is also being distributed to both of our local high schools in attempt to save a young person's life.

"Thanksgiving is one of the most dangerous holidays to be on the road. The James City County Police Department will be out in force cracking down on seat belt violators during Thanksgiving week. Buckle up for your own safety, and the safety of your children. The seat belt laws will be strictly enforced so "Buckle Up Now."
