Margaret Tucker, Public Fire Educator for James City County, was also honored for her efforts locally and statewide with Virginia CERT ("Citizens Emergency Response Team).
Both were recognized at the Virginia Public Safety Outreach Conference held recently in Richmond.
Tucker, who has worked for the County for 24 years, was honored by the state CERT as an outstanding coordinator and by the Virginia Citizen Corps for service to the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management. Wilson received his CERT training in 2003 and has contributed greatly as a volunteer to the County's Citizen Corps Council.
