JAMES CITY COUNTY, VA -- James City County Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the Kingsmill community on August 3, 2005. The 911 call was received ay 4:06 p.m. Units first arrived at 4:15 and had the fire knocked down by 4:45. The fire was declared under control at 5:15. Equipment and firefighters from York County and James City-Bruton Volunteer Fire Department assisted. The fire building was located at 150 Wareham's Point - the damage to the front and roof was severe. Minor to moderate fire damage occurred to the roof of the adjacent unit. Upon arrival by the fire department, the fire was burning at the front and through the roof. Additional fire was found burning on the roof involving cedar shake shingles. The two involved units were not occupied. There were no reported injuries. Fire marshals are investigating the fire cause. The fire area of origin was determined to be outside in vicinity of the front door. The fire is not considered suspicious.
