Williamsburg Area Transport (WAT) has received an $11,000 grant to install bicycle racks on its bus fleet. The racks, capable of holding up to two bicycles, will help cyclists who ride the buses. More than half of the bus fleet has had bike racks installed, with the rest of the installation to be completed over the next several weeks.
The grant was obtained through the Hampton Roads Planning District Commission. WAT is a regional transit system that provides transportation to residents of James City County, the City of Williamsburg, and the Bruton District of York County. For more information about WAT or the bicycle racks, call 259-4093.
