James City County hires new Assistant County Attorney

James City County has hired a new Assistant County Attorney, Jennifer Lyttle. She had worked for the past year as a paralegal in the County Attorney ’s office.

 

“Jenny is a perfect fit into the organization,” said County Attorney Leo Rogers. “She has been working with us for about a year and will be involved in all legal matters, including land transactions, environmental issues and Social Services cases. She will be a great asset to the County.” Her work as a paralegal involved reviewing and drafting contracts, researching and writing legal opinions and drafting County codes and ordinances. She also has worked closely with the Department of Social Services, including preparing court orders and presenting cases in Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court.

 

Lyttle received her law degree from Vermont Law School and recently passed the Virginia bar exam. She also has a bachelor’s degree in government from the College of William and Mary.

 

Her previous experience includes working as a law clerk for Tracy McMurtrie Luck & Associates where she worked in areas involving family law, property, estates, real estate and tort law. Lyttle, a resident of James City County, also has worked as a paralegal for Williamsburg Paralegal.
