James City County Policy Committee Schedules Special Meeting

The Policy Committee of the James City County Planning Commission has scheduled a special meeting which will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 1 p.m. in Building A of the County Complex , 101 Mounts Bay Road .  The purpose of this meeting is twofold.  First, the Policy Committee will continue the consideration of amendments to the Sign Ordinance.  The proposed changes would be to permit pedestrian-oriented signage in Mixed-Use Districts governed by a binding master plan and a design review board.  The amendments would permit additional types of signage to provide greater visibility for pedestrian traffic in the district but would not increase the total allowable square footage of signage.  The second item on the agenda will be a Policy Committee discussion of Adequate Public Schools
