The SAM Program (Success & Achievement through Mentors) is a James City County Parks and Recreation Division program designed to pair youth with a mentor who will act as a friend, role-model, confidant, advocate, counselor, etc.
The SAM Program provides mentors with training, support group meetings, an assigned case manager who will match and introduce the youth and the mentor, special mentor/youth relationship building activities, and yearly recognition. The SAM staff asks that mentors commit one hour of time per week for one year to their youth.
If you are interested in learning more about the SAM Program you may contact Vicki A. Sprigg, Human Services Coordinator at phone 757-259-5403, or email vasprigg@james-city.va.us .
