County Stadium Welcomes Fall Leagues

The James City County Stadium recently opened in the Warhill Sports Complex…and already the fields are filling up for fall play. The County Stadium was built to support varsity soccer, football and field hockey games for Lafayette, Jamestown and Warhill high schools. In addition, the site will be available to support sports tournaments and championships as well as a host of other community activities such as concerts and special events.

In addition to the new 3,000-seat County Stadium, the Sports Complex also features nine (4 baseball with lights, 5 multi-use) natural turf athletic fields and six synthetic turf multi-use fields. The synthetic fields are weather resistant which requires less maintenance, all factors that will increase play time and practice space for community sports programs. The surface is rubber infilled artificial turf with permanent lines for football, soccer, field hockey and lacrosse. Temporary paint can be used for all other activities. Also on-site are three new outdoor basketball courts and a 3.5mile ADA accessible multi-use trail – a unique environmental project in itself.
