More than 150 citizens told James City County their hot topics at the first round of Comprehensive Plan Community Conversations. Now we want to hear ideas about how to best address them. Make plans to attend the second round of Community Conversations – the next stage of public input for Historic Past, Sustainable Future.
The second round of Community Conversations will feature expert presentations and questionnaires on eight hot topics heard from you and your neighbors during Round One. Pick your hot topic or attend them all.
Wednesday, August 13…6 - 9 p.m.…Lafayette High School, 4460 Longhill Road
Topics: quality of growth, population needs, water, and impacts of growth
Tuesday, August 19…6 - 9 p.m.…Jamestown High School, 3751 John Tyler Highway
Topics: economic climate, environment, transportation, and housing
The Comprehensive Plan Expo will cover all eight hot topics on Monday, September 8 from 6 - 9 p.m. at James River Elementary School, 8901 Pocahontas Trail.
There will also be door prizes for participants, including Convenience Center Coupons, JCC Titleist Golf Balls, and more!
Citizen participation will have a direct effect on the actions the County undertakes and the goals that are set for OUR future.
For more information, call the hotline at 259-4990, or write to Historic Past, Sustainable Future/JCC Planning; P.O. Box 8784; Williamsburg, VA 23187. Overviews of the hot topics will be available at www.jccplans.org
The Comprehensive Plan, the County’s master plan for guiding future growth, is reviewed every five years and is used to evaluate development proposals and guide the decisions of County departments. It covers all aspects of the community, including economic development, population growth, public facilities, parks and recreation, and transportation.
