Visit a Listening Station Today
Date: March 31, 2008
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
James City County and the Community Participation Team (CPT) want to hear from you. Visit a Listening Station where you can provide input for the County’s Comprehensive Plan- the County’s master plan for guiding future growth. The plan is reviewed every 5 years and is used to evaluate development proposals and guide the decisions of County departments. It covers all aspects of the community, including economic development, population growth, public facilities, parks and recreation, transportation, and more.
Look for Listening Stations throughout the County. The Stations give residents the opportunity to jot down their thoughts about future growth and other hot issues and place them on the display. Some Listening Stations will also be staffed by CPT members.
The below Stations will be in place from April 1 through the end of May.
• JC/W Community Center lobby
• JCC Human Services Building lobby
• JCC Emergency Operations Center in Toano
• JCC Government Complex Buildings A, B, E, and F
• James City County Public Library (Croaker Road)
• Toano U.S. Post Office
Additional opportunities for citizen feedback include Community Conversations, the web site at www.jccplans.org, the Comprehensive Plan hotline at 259-4990, and the availability of CPT speakers. For information on these, call the JCC Planning Division at 253-6685.
