County Announces First E-Commerce Grant Recipient

James City County’s Office of Economic Development (OED) is pleased to announce that Michael C. Brown, Custom Builder, is the recipient of its first e-commerce grant in partnership with the Virginia Electronic Commerce Technology Center (VECTEC).
Michael C. Brown, Custom Builder, was awarded a $1,500 grant towards use to upgrade elements of their website www.williamsburgbuilder.com.
Since 1985, Michael C. Brown, Customer Builder has been committed to custom homebuilding in the Williamsburg area and is recognized for quality homes in Governor's Land at Two Rivers, Ford's Colony, Kingsmill, Berrett's Ferry, and Stonehouse.
VECTEC grants are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis to eligible businesses and must be used within one year.
An eligible business must be:
- an operating business* with at least one place of business physically located in the County;
- current in filing and payment of all taxes due to the County;
- in compliance with all applicable laws, ordinances and regulations; and
- a for-profit business.
If you are a vendor and would like to be included on the list of pre-approved County-based web design businesses, please contact the James City County Office OED to submit a portfolio and a list of referrals. OED’s mission is to expand the business tax and job bases in the County.
