Three local youth took home the top prizes in James City County’s drawing contest to celebrate Parks and Recreation Month! Children 12 and younger were invited to participate in the celebration by drawing a picture of themselves or their families and friends having fun participating in a leisure activity, program or at the County community centers or parks. Award recipients, l-r: Trey Phillips, 4, for his drawing “Fun at Kidsburg,” Nora Geer, 10, for “Paddle Boat,” and Gaon Lee, 8, for “Fun at the Park” along with Ned Cheely who presented the awards. Honorable mentions included Sofia Long, 7; Sam Long, 7; and Ashlyn Herring, 7.
