Comprehensive Plan to be discussed at upcoming Planning Commission Work Sessions

The James City County Planning Commission has scheduled two work sessions with the Board of Supervisors to discuss Historic Past, Sustainable Future, the draft Comprehensive Plan.

Land Use, the Land Use Map, and Transportation will be discussed at a future work session. Meetings are held at the County Government Complex, 101 Mounts Bay Road, in the Building F Work Session Room.
Adoption by the Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors is anticipated at regularly scheduled public hearings this fall. The draft plan and additional materials are available on www.jccplans.org and the work sessions are open to the public.
Meetings will be televised live on JCC TV48 and available on-demand on www.jccegov.com/jcctv48. The work sessions will be rebroadcast Fridays on Community Channel 46 at 8 a.m., 2 p.m., and 8 p.m.
The Comprehensive Plan is the County’s master plan for guiding future growth. Reviewed every five years, it is used to evaluate development proposals and guide the decisions of County departments. It covers all aspects of the community, including economic development, population growth, public facilities, parks and recreation, and transportation.
