Structure Fire at 389 Lake Forest Drive in James City County

Fire and EMS units, with 16 personnel, from the James City County Fire Department responded at 11:03 p.m. on Saturday night (12/26/09) for the report of a structure fire at 389 Lake Forest Drive (Powhatan Plantation), in James City County. First arriving units found that the sprinkler system had put out the fire which had limited the damage to the stovetop area and surrounding cabinets. Smoke damage was evident throughout the unit.
Based on the fire scene investigation of the James City County Fire Marshal’s Office, they confirm that the fire was accidental in nature. Ironically, this fire occurred at the same site as the 2006 fire which destroyed the entire row of units. Those units were not protected by fire sprinklers in 2006.
