Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2009.
Deadline to Register to Vote for this election is 5 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2009
Polling Place Hours on Election Day: Open at 6 a.m.; Close at 7 p.m.
If you are unable to make it to the polls on Election Day and meet one of the 18 reasons listed on the application, you are eligible to vote an Absentee Ballot.
Absentee Voting by Mail:
The deadline to submit an application to REQUEST an Absentee Ballot to be MAILED to a voter is 5 p.m., Tuesday, October 27, 2009.
Mailed Absentee ballots must be returned to the Voter Registration and Elections Office by 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 (close of polls). Ballots may be delivered by USPS or licensed commercial courier (UPS, FedEx, etc.). The ONLY individual that may hand deliver return a ballot is the voter.
Absentee Voting in Person:
James City County’s In Person Absentee Voting Polling Place opened at 8 a.m., Friday, September 18. It is located at the Voter Registration and Elections Office in the County Office Complex at 101 Mounts Bay Road, Building B
In Person Absentee Voting Hours of Operation:
Monday – Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday, October 24, 2009; 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday, October 31, 2009; 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. is the final deadline for In Person Absentee Voting
