Two Planning Commission Forums are planned to collect your ideas for the Zoning and Subdivision Update. Applications to speak at a forum are available on www.jccplans.org/ordinances.html#Ordinances. Slots are assigned on a first-come first-served basis and applications are due by August 16.

Both forums will be held in Building F of the James City County Government Center, 101 Mounts Bay Road. The Zoning Ordinance is the legal document that defines the appropriate uses for properties throughout the County. The Subdivision Ordinance is the set of regulations that establishes how new lots can be created. The Planning Division is undertaking the ordinance update in order to implement and put into practice many of the concepts expressed in the recently adopted 2009 Comprehensive Plan.
