Jamestown Scotland Ferry Service Reduced During Tomorrow Morning's Commute - Motorists Should Expect Delays

Surry — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will reduce Jamestown-Scotland Ferry service tomorrow morning, Wednesday, March 10, beginning at 6:00 a.m. The Williamsburg will be taken out of service for an annual fire suppression system inspection.
Both the Pocahontas and the Virginia will be in full service. With all three ferries in full service, approximately 120 vehicles per hour are carried across the river. While the Williamsburg is not the largest vessel in the fleet, it will reduce per hour passage by about 25 vehicles.
Motorists should expect delays during the morning rush hour and may want to consider the I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel or the following alternate route:
From Route 5 West take the Judith Stewart Dresser Memorial Bridge
(James City/Charles City) to Route 106/156 South
Go over the Benjamin Harrison Bridge to Route 10 East to Surry
