Explosive Device on Edinburgh Drive in James City County
On Saturday Jan. 7, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the James City County Fire Marshal’s Office responded to a homeowners concern over the discovery of some material found in their front yard on Edinburgh Drive near Tayside in the Ford’s Colony subdivision in James City County. There were no signs of damage found in the immediate area.
The James City County Fire Marshal’s Office discovered theremnants of what appeared to be a “bottle bomb” or “chemical bomb” as commonly referred to. The destroyed bottles appeared to have some discolored aluminum foil and liquid remaining. This material is being processed for any possible evidence, including fingerprints.
