Welcome to the James City County Police Department website. The officers and staff of the Department take great pride in providing the most effective and efficient police service, with the highest level of integrity, to the citizens and visitors of James City County.
The James City County Police Department is a service-oriented department with a strong commitment to Community Policing. We believe that crime is a community problem, as well as a law enforcement problem, and we strive to work in partnership with the community to resolve these problems. I recommend all citizens become involved in their neighborhoods through such programs as Neighborhood Watch. If your community does not have an established Neighborhood Watch program, contact Lt. Anthony Dallman at (757) 253-2481 to find out what needs to get done to get a program established in your community.
I firmly believe that the quality of police service, provided by a police agency, is directly related to the quality of officers that are selected and the training they receive. The James City County Police Department goes through an extensive recruitment and selection process to ensure that we hire the best qualified individuals with the highest level of integrity. Officers in the Department are trained through the Hampton Roads Criminal Justice Training Academy.
