Honor Guard Unit
The James City County Police Department Honor Guard was formed in 1996 by four officers. In 1998, the unit expanded to eight officers from within the Department who volunteered to represent the Department through pride, professionalism, and dedication. The Honor Guard represents the Police Department at community events such as Memorial Day Services, Veteran's Day services, Hampton Roads Regional Academy of Criminal Justice Training graduations, National Police Week in Washington D.C., and numerous other events throughout the year. The Honor Guard performs a variety of functions to include presenting the national colors, marching in community parades, and as a firing squad. The Honor Guard members are proud to represent the Police Department within the community. If you have any questions regarding the Honor Guard, please contact Lt. Christopher O’Neil at (757) 259-5154.
