radKIDS Personal Empowerment Safety Education for Children

radKIDS is a self empowerment safety program for children ages 5-12 years old. Other safety programs give children general guidance rules, show videos or simply "talk" to the children. radKIDS® is dedicated to providing our children with a hands-on, activity-based, physical skill development program—empowering our children with instinctual options they need to recognize, avoid, and if necessary, respond to potential danger. When a child is approached or grabbed, the response needs to be immediate, instinctual and absolute.
Classes will be held at the James City County Police Law Enforcement Center from 7-8 p.m. Monday through Friday. There is a $15 class deposit fee which will be returned if the student attends all five (5) classes.
Dates:
June 4-8 (5-8 year olds)
June 25-29 (9-12 year olds)
July 23-27 (5 8 year olds)
August 13-17 (9-12 year olds)

Update
“Fight Identity Theft” At The Shred-A-Thon ● October 29 ● 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Even though it was a rainy day the event yielded 6,600 pounds of shredded paper and raised $2,400 for the "Shop With a Cop" program. Thank you for you for your participation.
The shred-a-thon will be Oct 29, 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon in the parking lot of Towne Bank on Monticello Ave. The first “grocery” size bag is free and $5.00 for each additional bag. The event is designed to “Fight identity theft” and to fund the “Shop with a Cop” program. All the proceeds will be used to support the Shop with a Cop program. All donations will be gladly accepted. “Shop with a cop” is a program where the Police Dept. will take underprivileged children shopping at Christmas for toys and necessities. It will help improve the relationship between the children and Police Dept. Any questions can be directed to Officer Todd Dill, 757-603-6025, todd.dill@jamescitycountyva.gov
