Project Lifesaver
Project Lifesaver was established in 1999 as initiative for the 43rd Virginia Search and Rescue Company of the Chesapeake Sheriff's Office. Project Lifesaver's mission is to use technology in assisting those who care for victims of Alzheimer's and Related Mental Disorders (ARMD), including autism, and others who are at high risk of wandering. Project Lifesaver places personalized radio transmitters on identified persons with ARMD. These transmitters assist local emergency agencies in locating those who cannot help themselves. If you would like more information about this program, please contact Master Officer Alan McDowell at 603-6026 or 253-1800.
