Program Information
The Rec Connect School Age Program is celebrating over 20 years of providing quality summer camps and before and after school programs to our community!
Dependable and safe fun, games galore, fun fitness activities, creative crafts, interactive reading, team projects, drama, music, environmental education, swimming and field trips are just a few great features of this camp program! In addition, our programs include state licensure, partnerships with WJCC School S.H.I.P. (School Health Initiative Project), the JCC Police Department's GREAT Progam, Williamsburg Regional Library, 4-H/Extension and many others who help us keep our programming new, fun and exciting for your children.

Rec Connect School Age Program will continue to work in partnership with our families and community to provide safe and responsive programs that meet the diverse needs of our children in a fun and caring environment.

Each child will have the daily opportunity for:
- Creative Time: supervised arts and crafts, drama or music activities
- Play Time: active games and sports that build knowledge, confidence and fitness level
- Project Time: task-oriented activities to stimulate creativity and challenge skills
- Nutritional Time: snack, lunch and nutrition education
General Information
Before and After School 2009-2010
Location: Before and After School Programs are offered at all
elementary schools. The After School Program is offered for all middle
schools*. James Blair Middle School participants are transported to Berkeley Middle School
Dates:** Tuesday, September 8, 2009 - end of school year
Hours of Operation: (subject to
change)
Elementary Before School Program 7-school start; Middle and Elementary After School Programs school dismissal until 6 p.m.
Programs are offered on both half days and full teacher workdays.
Fees: (for 09/10 subject to change)
Elementary Before and After School: Before School - $30/week; After
School - $40/week; Before and After School - $50/week, 10 visit Punch Card - $100 (Nonrefundable if lost or stolen)
Middle School After School: $30/week, 10 visit Punch Card - $80 (Nonrefundable if lost or stolen)
Inclement Weather Policy
Inclement weather, unusual circumstances or program cancellation:
- If school is delayed: Before School program is closed
- If school is dismissed early: After School program will resume at dismissal (parent/guardian has one hour from the time of dismissal to pick up their child)
- If school is closed: Before and After School program is closed
Rec Connect Summer Camp 2009
Ages:5-14 (must have completed kindergarten)
Location: Elementary: James River, Matoaka, Norge, Rawls Byrd, and Stonehouse
Middle School*: Berkeley and Toano
Dates:** Monday, June 22, 2009 - Friday, August 28, 2009
Hours of Operation:
Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Fees:
Full-time: $90; $85 for JCC/Williamsburg residents+ field trip fees
Part time: $70; $65 for JCC/Williamsburg residents + field trip fees
Multiple child discount for full time registrants only: $10 discount per child after initial registrant
*The Rec Connect Middle School Programs are for grades 6-8: participants must have completed 5th grade
**There will be no program on July 3 in observance of Independence Day
