Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update
Thank you to the more than 1,300 citizens who shared their vision during the Parks and Recreation Master Plan update process. The Division is wrapping up the three-month review process for updating its guide for prioritizing citizen health, recreation and sports needs over the next five years and beyond.
To hear from citizens, a series of forums were held in October and November at strategic County locations (comments received at those meetings are available at the links below); 706 citizens participated in a random telephone survey; 520 citizens participated via an online survey; and many comments were received via the display boards at the community centers and citizen calls, e-mails and letters to the department.
All data collected will be compiled and analyzed. Once the Master Plan is completed, the document will be presented to the County Planning Commission and then to the Board of Supervisors as the recreation component of the County-wide Comprehensive Plan Update process taking place in 2007.
