(2) When it comes to parks, programs and facilities – what does Parks & Recreation do well?

Multi-generational activities
Good planning
Riverfront Park
Outdoor Skate Park

Baseball fields
Greenspace
Park acquisition
Before & After school program
Teen Night

3) In reference to those parks, programs and facilities – in what areas do we need to improve?

Community Center in Toano area, maybe connected to school
Youth softball fields at parks
High schools having own swimming space
Paperwork-difficult to enroll
(Community Center) Support staff, cumbersome process
Staff need more training for all children (i.e. diabetics); Be aware of children’s needs; professional training ahead of time; example- allergies etc.
More mountain bike trails- Jolly Pond
Purchase Lake Powell for kayaking, crewing
Courses for adults (lifeguard)
Vending machine with fruit
Back door entrance to gym when you’re not a member; need welcoming environment for non members (Chip Program)
