This reservoir park is a fisherman's paradise and has what your family needs for a fun day. This scenic park overlooks a 996-acre reservoir. Year round fishing, boating, and picnicking are available. The facility includes a one-mile scenic hiking trail providing breath taking overlooks of the 996 acre resovoir. The park is open daily March through November from 7 a.m. - sunset (6 a.m. - sunset on weekends and holidays) and December through February, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. weekends only. The park has a concession facility and two shelters with grills. There are canoes, kayaks, Jon boats, and a launch-your-own boat ramp. Plus, our newest attraction, a wonderful playground for big and little kids, is finished and ready for lots of fun!
The staff will be happy to answer any questions you have concerning Little Creek Reservoir Park or the James City County Division of Parks and Recreation. Shelter reservations can be made at the James City/Williamsburg Community Center, James River Community Center or the EOC Buildingin Toano.

Swimming is prohibited on all parts of the lake. Reservations are for one day in advance and held for 15 minutes after opening.
Motors
Electric trolling motors are the only motors permitted for use on the reservoir. All boats with motors must be registered with the State. Outboard motors may be kept on the boat under the following conditions:- Motor must be kept out of the water at all times.
- Portable fuel tanks must be removed from the boat.
- Built in fuel lines must have the shutoff valve in the closed position.
Personal Flotation Devices (PFD)
All boats must have a USCG approved wearable PFD for each occupant. In addition, all boats must have one Type IV throwable PFD. We strongly urge that children and non-swimmers wear life jackets while in the boat.
Restricted Areas
Boat launching, landing, disembarking, and bank fishing are allowed only at the recreation area.
Trash Disposal
Please do not throw trash on the ground or in the water. Free litterbags are available at the office. A dumpster and trash cans are available in the park. Remove all trash from rental craft.
Striped Bass
Minimum of 20-inches in length and a maximum of four per day per angler.
Pleasure Craft Rental Rules
- Anyone renting a canoe, kayak, or pleasure boat must be at least 16 years of age.
- No fishing from canoes or kayaks.
- No motors on canoes or kayaks.
- Each occupant must wear a USCG approved PFD at all times.
- No more than two adults and two small children per canoe.
- Kayaks have a maximum weight limit of 300 lbs.
- Double-seated kayak is for one adult and one small child.
Alcoholic Beverages
The possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited at the park or on the reservoir.
