**Classes not included with wristbands and require a separate registration fee that is payable to James City County.

 

All classes are held in the aerobic/dance studio at JCWCC unless otherwise noted.

 

For access to aerobic/fitness classes, you will need to purchase a wristband. Wristband prices are as follows:

  • $50/$45 forJC/W residents a month for unlimited classes for those who do not have a 3-, 6-, or 12-month access pass
  • $30 a month for unlimited classes if you have a 3-, 6-, or 12-month access pass
  • $55/$50 for JC/W residents for a 10-tab wristband that has no expiration date

NEW! Aqua Easy *

Are you looking to get back into exercise, but do not want a workout that is too strenuous? This is the class for you! Aqua Easy is the newest addition to our fitness classes. This class will consist of a low impact cardio workout that works the whole body. Classes will be structured so that participants are comfortable moving at their own pace with guidance from their instructor. No swimming ability is required.

 

Water Walking **

Take a step toward a healthier life-style Class focuses on water walking combined with upper boddy exercises to increase flexibility and muscle tone. Instructor will guide participants through a varety of water walking techniques. No swimming ability is required.

 

Water Cardio ***
This class is a high intensity cardiovascular workout to increase endurance and flexibility. Through the use of various equipment and techniques you will be put through an intense cardio workout without the strain on your joints from a land aerobic class.

 

Arthrits Foundation Aquatic Program (AFAP)

We are offering Arthritis Water Exercise. This class provides an ideal environment for relieving arthritis pain and stiffness, and improving the range of movement of joints affected by arthritis through the soothing warmth and buoyancy of warm water. Water exercise is a gentle way to exercise joints and muscles. Water supports joints, lessens stress, allows free movement ad provides mild resistance to help build muscle strength. Classes will be 50 minutes and led by instructors who have completed an Arthritis Foundation approved training program. Participants perform range-of-motion, strengthening and aerobic exercise, and no swimming ability is required.

 

**James City/Williamsburg Community Center wristband holders are guaranteed a minimum of 140 classes each month and have the option of taking both land and aquatic fitness sessions. Parks and Recreation makes every effort to minimize class cancellations, and when necessary, makes every effort to secure a substitute instructor. Because we offer more than 140 classes monthly and the price of the wristbands covers this entire selection of classes, individual refunds are not issued for specific class cancellations.
