Convenience Center Coupon Books and Locations
Beginning June 1, Convenience Center Coupons will no longer be available for purchase at County Fire Stations.
Convenience Center Coupons may be purchased at:
- Satellite Services Office, 3127 Forge Rd. (Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.)
- Treasurer’s Office, 101-B Mounts Bay Rd. (Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.)
- Freedom Park Office, 5535 Centerville Rd. (Mon-Fri, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sat-Sun, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.)
- James City/Williamsburg Community Center, 5301 Longhill Rd. (Mon-Thurs, 6 a.m.-9 p.m.; Fri, 6 a.m.-8 p.m.; Sat 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sun 1-6 p.m.)
- James River Community Center, 8901 Pocahontas Trl. (Mon-Thurs, 4-9 p.m.; Fri, 4-8 p.m.)

Coupon books are $20.00 and contain five coupons.
They can be purchased at the Treasurer's office, EOC Satellite office, Freedom Park Office, James City/Williamsburg Community Center and James River Community Center. Coupons can also be purchased at the County web site through e-payment. There will be a .50 service charge per transaction. Coupons books will be mailed directly to residents and orders should be received within 3-4 business days. The charges (in coupons) are as follows:

Due to limited space, any resident with a vehicle larger than a standard, full-size pick-up and/or trailer may be asked to dispose of their material at either the Convenience Center or the Transfer Station after paying the appropriate coupon charge. If you should have any questions regarding the coupon charges, please contact the Solid Waste office at (757) 565-0971, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Convenience Center Locations and Operating Hours
Jolly Pond Road - 1204 Jolly Pond Road - 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., seven days a week. Other recyclables taken at Jolly Pond Road are kitchen grease, waste motor oil and antifreeze, tires,* propane tanks,* scrap metal (including appliances), and brush." When using this facility, residents are urged to allow ample time to unload vehicles prior to the 5:00 p.m. closing.
Tewning Road - 107 Tewning Road - Monday 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.; Tuesday - Saturday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Waste motor oil, antifreeze, and kitchen grease accepted. No metal items or mattresses accepted here.
Toano Convenience Center - 185 Industrial Boulevard (Hankins Industrial Park) - 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., seven days a week. Other recyclables taken at the Toano Convenience Center are tires (coupons required), automobile batteries, motor oil, antifreeze, metal appliances, and kitchen grease. No mattresses accepted here.
The Convenience Centers are closed on the following holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. On July 4, the Jolly Pond Convenience Center will be open from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., and all other Centers will be closed. On Christmas Eve, all Centers will close at noon.
Recycling of kitchen grease, waste motor oil, antifreeze, automobile batteries, and metal appliances is free of charge at all Convenience Centers.
