Sandra Kee - Extension Administrative Assistants Honored

ROANOKE – Four Virginia Cooperative Extension administrative assistants, Linda B. Jones, Danville , Sandra Kee, James City County , Theresa Long, Charlotte County , and Jody L. Painter, Yorktown , have been honored for meritorious service. The honor was presented at the annual awards ceremony of the Alpha Gamma chapter of Epsilon Sigma Phi, the Extension honorary organization. It was held in Roanoke April 19, as part of the Virginia Extension Service Association annual meeting.

Kee, who has been with Extension for 12 years, is known for her excellent computer skills and her ability to provide training for others to work with Extension policies and procedures. The example cited in her award was that she maintained the financial records for the office at a time when there was no other persons with the knowledge and skills because of retirements and the inability to replace former staff members. She had the knowledge of the county and state procedures in addition to the Extension procedures to be able to maintain accurate records and adhere to policies.
