Food Stamps
Households that meet financial requirements are eligible to receive a debit card to purchase food at participating grocery stores. It is important that you file your application today to protect the amount of your benefits. You may do so by mailing or submitting an application today. Your application will go into effect the day it is received at the office, not the day of your appointment. The agency has 30 days to process your application or seven days if expedited. Additionally, your food stamp benefits for the month of application will be prorated from the date your application is received by Social Services if you are found eligible. We can either mail you an application or you can stop by the office and pick one up. We are located at 5249 Olde Towne Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23188. Hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Food Stamps are electronic benefits that can be used like cash to buy food at any store that has a sign displaying the Cardinal Card or the Quest sign. Each eligible household will receive a card that may be used like a bank debit card to purchase eligible food items from your account. Check for eligibility with online screening.
