The Mill Creek Watershed is the latest watershed to undergo a comprehensive planning process. Once complete, and after watershed stakeholders have commented, the final watershed management plan will be presented to the Board of Supervisors.
The Planning Process for the Mill Creek Watershed
Conservation Area Study and Stream & Floodplain Assessments: Contractors, working for the County will gather information along stream channels in the watershed. This may involve entering private property such as backyards to assess conditions along the waterways. Completed
1st Stakeholder Meeting: A meeting for watershed stakeholders, to gather input on field data, maps and conclusions. Completed: May 20, 2010 (Survey) (Comments)
Draft Watershed Management Plan: Prepare specific recommendations with costs, responsible parties, and detail sufficient for implementation. Completed
2nd Stakeholder Meeting: A meeting for watershed stakeholders, to gather input on watershed goals, maps and recommendations. Completed: March 30, 2011 (Survey) (Summary)
Final Watershed Management Plan: After review and comment by watershed stakeholders, prepare a final watershed management plan, incorporating review comments. Target due date: May 2011
